Course Title – QA First Aid at Work
The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the 1st day of training. No other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
This accredited course enables a designated workplace first aider to be in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. The course is held over 3 days and learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations.
Duration: Three Days
What to expect:
A very practical course where all delegates must take part in practical group work. Anyone who feels they may find it difficult to carry out practical work on the floor should contact Training 26 in advance as assessments must be carried out on the floor to simulate a real life situation.
Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) certificate as well a plastic aide memoire.

Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a Qualsafe accredited certificate. This will be valid for 3 years. If completed within 3 years a two day requalification course must be completed, however if the certificate is allowed to expire then the full 3 days must be completed again.
Recommended best practice requires a refresher course to be completed annually.
First Aid Law
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 state that employers should provide adequate and appropriate equipment and enough trained first aiders to help injured or ill staff.
The regulations only cover first aid arrangements for employees, but businesses that deal with members of the public (such as shops) should also consider this in their needs assessment.
